AN estate in north Wiltshire has been without phone or internet access for more than 10 days.

Four households in Radnor Park, Corston, just south of Malmesbury, lost their access after a water company went looking for a leak on their road.

Nigel Chivers, 44, is a self-employed dry stone wall builder and uses his home phone line for business work.

“I don’t know what business I could have lost out on,” he said.

“It’s difficult to send professional quotes from your phone and some people don’t like ringing a mobile for work.

“You don’t realise how much you miss the internet when it’s not there.”

The family have been using internet on their phones in the meantime.

This has made it difficult for their daughter to do homework, as the school sets some work that requires information from the internet.

“We have sometimes had to go and sit outside a friend’s house with the iPad to get internet, so she doesn’t get in trouble,” Nigel explained.

Sky, who provide Nigel and his family with internet and phone access, have been contacted for a comment.
