BAGS of what are thought to be Class A drugs have been found in an alleyway in Malmesbury.

Police received a call last week from a concerned parent when her teenage daughter returned home with a small bag of white powder.

The girl and her friends had found the bag in an alleyway in Malmesbury, where more bags were subsequently found and handed into police to destroy.

Speaking about the finds, a police spokesperson said: “We strongly suspect these bags contain Class A drugs that could have been picked up by anyone and as they were found close to a play park, that person could have been a young child.

“Please be aware of the potential threat this type of lost property can pose to your community and act responsibly like this mother and daughter did to ensure the bags and their contents were safely disposed of.”
