THE Malmesbury Film Society returns to St Mary’s Hall this week, with a showing of a former Palme d'Or nominated film.
Renowned for its beautiful cinematography, The Assassin tells the story of an 8th century assassin in China, sent home and ordered to kill the man she was meant to marry.
A spokesperson for the film society said: “Full of lavish costumes and strikingly filmed visuals, this is not your typical martial arts film.”
The screening will start at 7.30pm this Sunday.
Tickets cost £5, available on the door, with no booking necessary.
