THERE was delight at Malmesbury School this morning, as every pupil received a place at university following their A-Level results.

A total of 30 per cent of grades were A* or A, with 64 per cent A* to B and 88 per cent A* to C.

Headteacher, Tim Gilson said the results showed “the consistently high performance” of the sixth form students at the school.

He continued: “This year’s results are up on the very good results of last year and are close to our best ever results.

“This is not just about A* and A grades, many students have exceeded their expectations and show real ‘value added’ from their GCSE results.

“All our sixth form students are to be congratulated for working incredibly hard and achieving such strong academic results in addition to their wider contributions to the leadership of the school.

“Most of our students will now be going on to excellent universities to pursue their studies.”

Michaela Robinson, 19, will be one of those pupils heading to her chosen university, Westminster, to study French and politics, after receiving BBC grades.

She originally attended another sixth form before moving to Malmesbury School and thanked her teachers for her success.

“The teachers here are incredible and the tutors are incredible,” she said.

“I couldn’t have asked for better teachers.”

Claire Butcher, 18, received straights As in maths, physics and biology.

She will be going to study at Nottingham, which had a civil engineering course she liked that focused on renewables.

Speaking about her choice to do engineering, she said: “One of the chemistry teachers got me to go on an Inspire course which got me into it.”

Adrien Fauvarque, 18, was the recipient of this year’s university scholarship from the James Dyson Foundation, that will see his tuition fees paid for by the Malmesbury-based company.

He will be leaving Malmesbury School with three A*s and an A in maths, further maths, physics and product design.

He said he was “very happy” with his results and will be going to Nottingham to do mechanical engineering.

Speaking about his time at Malmesbury School he said: “The teachers were amazing.

“It’s a very good school.”
