THE subtle tones of the cello will fill a church in Great Somerford for a good cause next week.
The church in Great Somerford are hosting a cello recital featuring the acclaimed cellist, composer and Principal Conductor of the Royal Orchestral Society, Orlando Jopling.
Orlando who will be playing two of Bach’s cello suites in the church as part of his Cello Pilgrimage.
The church is hoping to see as many people as possible to help raise money for the roof, which is in a fragile and critical state.
In the afternoon, Orlando will be giving a demonstration of the cello to the children at Somerfords’ Walter Powell School, hopefully inspiring the next generation of cellists.
