A LEGAL expert will be giving Malmesbury residents the opportunity to learn about wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney at a legal surgery later this month.

Nicholas Sewell, who is a partner with one of Wiltshire’s oldest and most respected law firms Bevirs, is holding a free consultation opportunity in Malmesbury Town Hall on Thursday, June 23.

Most people do not have a will and Nicolas is urging people to take the time to learn about how to leave money behind to loved ones.

Speaking about the surgery he said: “Did you know most people still don’t have a valid will?

“This matters if you care about who inherits your estate – and who does not – or if you do not wish your assets to go a more distant relative or even the Treasury.

“It also matters if you feel your will may be complex and not straightforward.

“Perhaps you’ve been married more than once and have several children from two or more relationships?

“Perhaps you wish to leave some money to charity but worry those left behind may not allow this to happen?”

The drop-in session in Malmesbury on June 23 offers 15 minutes of free consultation between 10am-2pm by appointment only.
