POLICE will be holding a two-hour ‘community drop spot session’ to give residents the opportunity to sign up to the Community Messaging scheme.

On Monday, June 20, two police community support officers (PCSOs) from Wiltshire Police will be outside Cricklade Police Station between 10am-noon.

By signing up to Community Messaging, residents can participate in the exchange of information with Wiltshire Police, Neighbourhood Watch and potentially in the future other voluntary watch schemes and public sector agencies.

When signing-up people can choose to receive information by email, text or voicemail.

Examples of messages that may be sent include community policing news and events, details of area crime trends, appeals for information, crime prevention advice and outcomes of court cases relating to incidents in your area.

Residents can use Community Messaging to respond to messages, feeding back information to your local neighbourhood officers to help them in policing your local area.
