Following the resignation of Amanda Kettlety and Stewart Shape, two vacancies now exist for councillor on Malmesbury Town Council.

As there has been no request made for an election, the positions will be filled by co-option.

Anyone interested in being considered for the vacancies are requested to make an application in writing, giving information about themselves and setting out why they would like to be a councillor and confirming their eligibility.

Applicants must be a qualifying Commonwealth citizen, European Union citizen (includes British citizen) or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, over 18 years of age, have lived or worked for the last 12 months within 3 miles of the Parish, have no convictions within the last 5 years, and any bankruptcy must have been annulled.

Applications should be submitted to Jeff Penfold, Town Clerk, Town Hall, Cross Hayes, Malmesbury, Wiltshire SN16 9BZ  or emailed to administration@malmesbury.gov.uk not later than noon on Tuesday, September 15.

Interviews will be held by the Town Council on Wednesday, September 16, commencing at 7.00pm. A decision will be made by the Council as soon as possible after the interviews.
