IT is good to see that something might finally be done about the blind corner on Webbs Way, just off Old Railyway Close.

The dangerous junction is a source of contention in the community, with residents, in particular families, incredibly concerned about the potential for a serious accident to take place there.

There have already been a number of near misses reported at the spot and it’s only a matter of time before one of those becomes a hit.

One of the most alarming aspects of the current situation is the possibility of children getting hurt.
With a local school in its locality it is a wonder why the area hasn’t been more thoroughly scrutinised for safety.

Is it going to take someone getting seriously injured before something is done? Let’s hope not.
The petition being started by Cllr Julie Exton to get parking restrictions is a step in the right direction, and will hopefully be well supported.

It is yet another time that the community has had to rely on itself to set the wheels in motion for necessary change in an area.

Thankfully Malmesbury is never short of a diligent and compassionate resident.

Let us hope the petition brings about the vital changes needed to the blind spot.

If residents back it, and the council heeds the warning, then a solution can be organised quickly, before anything regrettable happens there.
