Footballers from Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service have presented Wiltshire Air Ambulance with a cheque for £1,000.
The money was raised over the year through donations made at weekly five-a-side games, and also the annual North v South football match.
It’s the second time that Wiltshire Air Ambulance has benefited from the players’ generosity. The charity was chosen as it came to the rescue of Watch Manager Russ Bishop in 2011 when he suffered a life-threatening heart attack.
Russ, who lives in West Lavington and works at Service HQ in Potterne, has now recovered from his health scare. As well as organising the five-a-side games, he’s now back playing.
