NURSERY pupils from Meadowpark Nursery School in Cricklade got to experience what it feels like to graduate last week.
A musical concert and graduation ceremony for all children completing their nursery education was held at the school, with over 80 parents in attendance.
Pupils got to put on a final performance in front of their parents before leaving the school and wore mortar board hats they had made themselves.
The songs, accompanied by percussion instruments, represented their play and learning experiences whilst at nursery.
“The children are just four years old and many of them have been at the nursery since they were babies,” said Rajvinder Kular, head teacher at Meadowark. “The confidence of their performance shows just how far they have come.”
Sarah Pell, whose daughter Rosemary attended Meadowpark Nursery for the last three years, said: “It was fascinating listening to the children sing about the seasons and the trips they have made.
“My daughter visited Westonbirt Arboretum, Roves farm and Butterfly World. I can’t believe they have done so much.
“The children even had their very own caterpillars and fed them until they turned into butterflies.”
The children all received graduation certificates at the ceremony and a keepsake teddy bear for good luck.
