MALMESBURY and District Link, a team of volunteer drivers that offer lifts to GPs' surgeries, chiropodists, dentists and hospital outpatient departments to the most vulnerable, are looking for new volunteers.
The service is looking for a team of volunteer co-ordinators to take clients' phone requests and then contact drivers to arrange journeys.
Co-ordinators will only need to work every other Monday morning from home, however days can be flexible.
At 9am the duty co-ordinator diverts the Link line to their home phone and then takes calls from clients wishing to make an appointment. The line is open until 1pm when it is diverted back to its resting place.
“Obviously the co-ordinator needs to be comfortable with using a computer but no special skill is required and full induction training will be given,” said Link chairman Christopher Blount.
For further information, prospective volunteers can contact Link co-ordinator and volunteer support officer Fee Knowles on 01666 837967 or feeknowles@btinternet.com.
