AN ATTACK in Malmesbury left a 38-year-old woman in hospital after she was attacked by a group of five people on Sunday night.
Wiltshire Police were called at 9.34pm on May 3 following an assault in the High Street after two women were verbally abused and then assaulted by a group outside the Kings Arms Hotel.
The victim confronted the group and was then punched in the face by a man from the group after they argued.
As a result of the attack the victim was left with a split lip and was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon for treatment.
The man is described as white, aged in his 20s, approximately 6 ft 2 inches tall, of slim build, with black hair. It is believed he was wearing a purple shirt.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, should call police on 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
