A STAGE for local acts at Malmesbury’s newest musical festival has been announced by organisers this week.
Head organiser Neil Muttock said that because they had had so many requests for local groups to be more involved they had arranged a special stage.
The Boondocks Cafe will have a line-up chosen by the people attending the festival through an online voting process which will open on May 8.
Neil said: “We’ve had enquiries from a lot of local bands and solo artists who want to play but we haven’t got the slots to put them all in unfortunately.
“There’s so much local talent in Malmesbury that it’s difficult to choose between them all, so we are opening it up to the public.”
The team are inviting people to send in their nominations for local bands, or to put themselves forwards by sending a message including some contact details, a band name and a video or audio recording of themselves performing.
On May 8 the shortlist of potential acts for the Boondocks Cafe will be announced and then voting will be open via Twitter, Facebook and the Boondocks Festival’s website until May 15.
