A SCAM letter has been received by at least one Malmesbury resident who decided to raise the alarm.

Mary Green of West Street said that she received a letter from a company called Bono Lottery and initially disregarded it as simple junk mail.

On closer inspection she realised that it was a scam designed to convince people to give out their personal details and to convince them to transfer money to the fraudsters responsible for the letter.

She described the letter as official looking and explained that she was worried other people might fall victim to the scam.

Like other lottery scams Bono Lottery have been caught trying to get people to send them an administration fee before prize money is released.
