AN URGENT appeal has been started to raise funds to care for a vulnerable person's dog while they are undergoing essential medical treatment.

The person, who wishes to remain anonymous, needs money for their dog to be kennelled as they have nobody to look after it and do not wish for anyone to know who they are.

They will be undergoing necessary therapy for 12 weeks and will have no income during that time.

As a result they need to put their medium sized dog in kennels and this will cost upwards of £1,000.

HEALS of Malmesbury have put together a fund for people to donate to this cause and named it the Doggy Day Care Appeal.

The appeal aims to raise at least £600 of the total for the person so they can spend their time in treatment with some peace of mind and all of the money will be spent on looking after the dog.

Alison Cross-Jones, manager of HEALS of Malmesbury said that the town has raised money for other causes and hoped that this would draw some generosity.

She said: “Malmesbury is a community of dog lovers and this is someone within our community who needs our help.”

To contribute send cheques or donations to the HEALS centre in Malmesbury's High Street or drop them into the office clearly labelled as for the Doggy Day Care Appeal.
