WORK to heighten the railway bridge on Callow Hill in Brinkworth will close the road for around five months, starting on March 30.
The work, planned by Network Rail, is to raise the height of the bridge to make room for the overhead wires to power a new fleet of electric trains.
The existing deck of the bridge will be entirely removed and replaced with a new precast concrete beam to achieve the required clearance.
