EXPERTS and current foster carers will be on hand to discuss the challenges and rewards of helping to care for children at an event hosted by Wiltshire Council.

Potential foster carers are encouraged to find out more by coming to the nextsession at City Hall, Salisbury, at 7pm on January 27.

Wiltshire Council particularly needs more foster families to provide homes for teenagers, children with disabilities and groups of siblings.

Cabinet member for children’s services Laura Mayes said: “Wiltshire Council values foster carers as a vital part of the looked-after children service.

“We recognise that in order to complete such an invaluable task, foster carers are an essential part of our professional team and need access to a comprehensive and reliable support service.

“I would urge anyone who feels they may be able to offer a fostering home to get in touch to find out more.”
