A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious leg injuries after being hit by a car in Swindon after midnight last night.

Police believe the man, aged 27, was hit when a car crashed into a street lamp before stopping in the middle of the road.

They think the man was walking the same direction as the car on the pavement when the red Vauxhall Vectra crashed on the Cricklade Road, heading in the direction of the A419.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision at 12.45am or perhaps saw the Vectra before the incident.

The driver of the Vectra, a man aged 32, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to GWH.
