WILTSHIRE Councillor Simon Killane is planning to stand for the North Wiltshire Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in the coming election.

He plans to run a campaign funded entirely by individual donors with a £1,000 cap on donations to prevent anyone attempting to influence him.

He said: “I want to go back to basics, to the traditional link between the people and their MP.

“I’m going to use crowdfunding to raise the money I need to make sure that all of the 40,000 residents of North Wiltshire know who I am, what I stand for and why I should their MP.

“If enough people are willing to support me and directly fund me then I will work openly and transparently for them.”
