LATE Night Shopping is set to go ahead in Malmesbury on Friday December 12 with lights, a parade and various stalls for all to enjoy.

Parts of the High Street will be closed to cars to allow crowds to enjoy festive food stalls, a parade from Father Christmas and some entertainment from Malmesbury Community Choir.

As well as all of the above there will be fairground rides, a fire engine for children to climb on and a nativity performance put on by local schoolchildren including live animals in the centre of the town.

The evening kicks off at 6pm with Santa parading down the High Street at 6.30pm, with stalls closing at around 9pm.

Malmesbury Chamber of Commerce secretary Kate Wareham said that they were looking forward to the event but that they still needed volunteers to help with marshalling the evening, even if only for an hour.

She added: “It’s always a lovely night and lots of fun that’s all very Christmassy.”

To help out with marshalling on the night please email Kate at secretary@malmesburychamber.org.uk or call her on 07739 891610.
