Max George Lewis, 19, from Melksham, died in the collision shortly before 3pm on Saturday on Forest Lane when a red Citroen Saxo he was travelling in collided with a white Renault Master van.
The driver of the Saxo - a 22 year old man from Melksham - was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital and is now stable.
Sergeant Barrie Card said: "Following a fantastic response from the public, we have now arrested two men on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
"I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank the local community for the information they have provided to Wiltshire Police since Saturday's tragic road traffic collision.
"We will now continue to focus our attention on this investigation."
