THE FAMILY of Anthony Jeng, the Crudwell man who died in a crash on the A429 on October 23, have released a tribute to their lost loved one.

They wrote: "Anthony Jeng, known as Tony, a 38 year old loving husband, daddy, brother and uncle, recently lost his life in a tragic road collision.

"Tony and his family have recently moved to the area after 14 years’ service in the Royal Engineers (170 Infra Support Squadron) his service included Iraq Afghanistan and Kenya he was an exceptional soldier.

"Tony was dedicated, caring and loyal to his country, family and friends; he was especially known for his sense of humour and love of pranks.

"His family would like to thank his friends for all the support and messages received, their messages of sympathy show us how much he was loved and respected.

"Our thanks also go to those who arrived at the scene and helped him; and for all the support received from neighbours since receiving the devastating news; in different circumstances he was always there to help others.

“We are his girls always and forever, his daughter was the light of his life and he is sorely missed. We love you.

"At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember you. REst in Peace."

The final line of the family's tribute references the sign off of the Royal Engineers (RE).

On October 23 Anthony died from injuries suffered in a three-vehicle crash on the A429 near Kemble Business Park.

The crash involved a blue Audi driven by the 38-year-old, a white Ford Transit van and a lorry.

Two women involved in the collision were taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon for treatment, but their injuries were not considered serious.

The road was closed for several hours following the collision around 3pm, causing a build up of traffic between the two towns.
