PYJAMAS and a onesie are not normal work attire for staff at Sherston Post Office but several members of staff are turning up suitably underdressed for work in aid of Children in Need this year.

Ros Bates and Anthea Young will make the windy November walk to work in less than formal dress, sporting their son's pyjamas and tiger print onesie respectively before working their shifts in the borrowed nightwear.

Ros, 67, has accepted the challenge several times before and said that she would be carrying a bucket for donations on her walk to the post office to help raise money for the charity.

“I look at some of those children and think they just need help and if I can give them a couple of pounds to help out I’ll feel like I’ve done something” said Ros.

“It’s not a huge amount compared to some people but it’s £500 they wouldn’t have otherwise.”

Ros’ son is 6’4” and Ros, who will wear her son’s pyjamas all day, is only 5’2”. In previous years Ros wore a pink onesie and a dressing gown but was keen to keep doing something different each year.

As well as their walk to work and spending the day in pyjamas the staff at the post office will also be running a number of fundraisers within the shop itself including longest loom band chain, most creative loom band creation and guess the number of loom bands in the jar.

Ros thanked everyone in the post office for their support of the fundraiser, and said that without the efforts of Paul and Gail Mather in particular the event could not continue to go ahead.
