A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a fire in Swindon last week.

Patricia Louise Hindle, aged 29 from Crombey Street, Swindon, is accused of murdering 62-year-old Michael Redpath on September 10.

Firefighters managed to rescue Mr Redpath from a burning flat in Albion Street, but he later died in hospital as a result of his injuries.

Hindle appeared before the town's magistrates on Saturday and the case was adjourned until tomorrow when she is expected to appear before Bristol Crown Court via video link.

An inquest was opened and revealed Mr Redpath died from smoke inhalation and burns.
