TWO men were arrested in the early hours of the morning after police were alerted to a burglary in Brinkworth.
Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle after the break-in was reported on June 25 and the men – one in his 30s and the other in his 40s – were detained when plant tools and equipment were found inside it.
The pair, both from Swindon, were questioned and later released on bail for further inquiries.
Sgt Martin Alvis from Malmesbury Police said: “As a result of units being deployed in the area due to previous recent burglaries, we were able to locate and detain these persons.
“his now brings the total arrest to four for non dwelling burglaries in our area over the past week and sends a message out to those intent on stealing from others.
“We take crime seriously and we will make it our business to track offenders down and bring them to justice whatever the hour of the day.”
