MALMESBURY Youth Football Club is marking its 25th birthday this year with a special party at its Red Bull ground.

Fellow sportsmen and women from other groups in the town including footballers, tennis players, netball teams, swimmers and bowlers are joining in the big day on May 17.

“The event is to highlight the wide and diverse range of groups and clubs on offer to children, adults and families in our wonderful town, many of which are run by volunteers,” said organiser Steve Coleman.

“Lots of these organisations rely on their members and fundraising events and we are hopeful that this community day will benefit all involved, either through exposure, fund raising or new members.”

He added: “The list of groups joining us on the date is impressive and should create a great day for all members and anybody else visiting the event. Each group will be creating interactive, join in sessions for all to enjoy.

“We have a huge number of sports groups, charity groups, Arts groups, Military groups, Church groups and farming groups to name but a few. The support we have received from the local community is incredible.”

A barbecue, sweet shop and bouncy castle are also planned between 11am and 3pm.
