A MAJOR fire involving a workshop and barn near Royal Wootton Bassett is thought to have been started accidentally.
Eight fire crews, including Malmesbury and Cricklade fought for more than two hours this afternoon to bring the blaze at Vastern under control.
The alarm was raised just before 1pm and firefighters arrived to find acetylene and liquid petroleum gas cylinders on the scene. A 200 metre safey zone was established but has since been removed because the cylinders are no longer deemed to be at risk of explosion.
It is believed that the fire started accidentally but the exact cause remains unknown at the moment.
