A WOMAN who falsely claimed she was a registered nurse, when she was not, has been released on bail by a judge.

Susan Crawford admitted earning money by making the bogus claim when she appeared at Swindon crown court.

The 50-year-old, of Upper Minety, pleaded guilty to a charge of obtaining a pecuniary advantage by deception.

She admitted that from the start of February to the end of April 2003 she received payment by falsely representing she was a qualified registered nurse.

Fiona Elder, defending, asked for the case to be adjourned so the probation service can compile a pre-sentence report.

Recorder James Watson QC put the case back until Wednesday April 16 and released Crawford on bail.
