ONE of the country’s top reggae DJs is to appear at WOMAD Charlton Park this July.
David Rodigan, who is in the Radio Academy Hall of Fame and was awarded the MBE for his services to broadcasting, is among a long list of acts from all over the world.
Mercury-nominated Sam Lee and Friends, Brazilian singer and guitarist Gilberto Gil, sitar masters Debapriya and Samanwaya of India and throat singers Huun Huur Tu from Russia also feature in the line-up along with bands from Quebec, Armenia, Tanzania, Japan, Germany and the Mali desert.
Included in the UK acts are soul singer Alice Russell, Bwani Junction and Syd Arthur.
The festival just outside Malmesbury runs between July 25 and 28.
