A MAJOR consultation has started in the search for possible gipsy sites in North Wiltshire.

News that the district council had pinpointed six likely locations set off protests among residents living nearby.

Now the authority is asking for opinions on the sites and suggestions for other possibilities.

Running until June 20 the consultations will include presentations at the five area committees, information in libraries and a letter to all residents neighbouring the prospective sites at Calne, Chippenham and Wootton Bassett.

The NWDC website at www.northwilts.gov.uk/ldf has more information on the proposals.
