ROCK star Bryan Ferry's foxhunt loving son Otis was today committed for crown court trial on charges of robbing a woman of a video camera and assaulting another woman during a Hunt meeting in the Cotswolds.

The two women were monitoring the activities of the Heythrop Hunt in north Gloucestershire when Ferry committed the alleged offences last November.

Police were at Cheltenham Magistrates court in force today in case of any demonstrations by pro or anti hunting protestors but there was no sign of any supporters from either side of the hunting issue.

Ferry, wearing a navy blue suit and dark blue polkadot tie, was in the dock for five minutes.

The 25-year-old is accused of robbing Susan Grima of a Samsung video camera of unknown value and assaulting Helen Ghalmi by beating her.

Both offences were allegedly committed at Lower Swell on November 21 last year.

Ferry, of Keepers Cottage, Cross Hands, Shrewsbury, was told he could indicate a plea to the charges but that they would not formally be taken until he appears at Gloucester crown court next Wednesday, May 14.

Asked by the clerk if he wished to enter pleas Ferry replied "If it doesn't mean anything then there's not much point."

Ferry was granted unconditional bail and told to attend a preliminary hearing at Gloucester crown court at next Wednesday.
