A 28-YEAR-OLD man has today been committed for crown court trial accused of causing the deaths of a man and a sixteen-year-old girl in a horrific car crash in the Cotswolds four months ago.

Sean Creed of Hampton Fields, Minchinhampton, near Stroud, appeared on crutches for a brief hearing on Monday morning.

He entered no pleas to the three charges that he caused the deaths of Jade Turley, 16, who was studying beauty therapy at Cirencester College, and Paul Workman, 38, by dangerous driving on December 8 last year on an unclassified road at Cherington, near Tetbury, and that he drove with excess alcohol on his breath.

It is alleged he had a breath alcohol reading of 140 milligrammes, the legal limit being 80.

Magistrates committed the trial to Gloucester Crown Court and bailed Creed to appear there on Wednesday, April 21.

A condition of his bail is that he must not contact Amber Turley, Jade's 19-year-old sister.

The charges follow a crash at Cherington on Dec 8 when a red Subaru Impreza car allegedly driven by Creed went off the road and through a stone wall.

Jade, from Minchinhampton, and Mr Workman, from Brimscombe, were passengers in the car.

Jade’s sister Amber, 19, was also in the car and survived the crash along with Mr Creed.

Both were badly injured and spent several weeks in hospital.
