THE airport where a light aircraft crashed on Tuesday has re-opened.

The light aircraft crashed at Cotswold Airport on Tuesday after the Belgian pilot failed to complete an aerobatic loop just before 3pm.

The 48-year-old pilot suffered two fractured vertebrae and serious burns and was airlifted to Bristol’s Frenchay Hospital.

The plane, an OV10 Bronco, had been on display at Fairford Air Tattoo over the weekend.

An investigation by the Air Accident Investigation branch of the Department of Transport is underway.
