Robber gets away with £10 in knifepoint restaurant robbery

A RESTAURANT in Moreton-in-Marsh was robbed at knifepoint in front of shocked diners last night.

A man walked into The Spice Room on Oxford Street at around 9pm last night and threatened a member of staff with a knife.

He demanded they hand over money from the till, and left after staff gave him £10.

Noone was hurt in the incident.

He is described as in his mid-20s, white, of medium build, and around 5ft 4in tall.

He was wearing a cream hooded top, a cream beanie hat and jeans and had a white scarf covering his face.

Gloucestershire police Inspector Jon Smith said it was possible people who were in the restaurant when the robbery happened had left before police got there.

“It’s really important that anyone who was in the restaurant at around 9pm contact us, as they may have vital information that could help our investigation,” he said.

Diners who were at the restaurant at the time, or anyone else with information, is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 101, quoting incident number 400 of June 7.
