Arts Council England announced that Gloucestershire’s bid had been successfuland the county is now expected to receive £1.77 million to help transform music education.
The county council, schools, musicians and communities will now have to work together to deliver music education inside and outside schools, ensuring every child aged five to 18 has the chance to sing and learn a musical instrument, as well as perform as part of an ensemble or choir.
Activities will start in September 2012.
