New car showroom brings new job opportunities in Lechlade

A NEW car showroom and garage is to be unveiled in Lechlade this weekend.

The family run car dealership, Allied Motor Company Ltd, will bring more business and jobs to the market town with the launch of the expanding firm’s new premises.

Along with selling used cars ranging from £2,000 to £50,000, the site at The Priory on Faringdon Road will offer car servicing, MOTs, valeting and finance packages.

With nearly 25 years experience in the trade, owner Mike Dolan said he decided it was time to take a risk and invest in the major project.

“I’m fighting my way into the business rather than listening to all the bad news about the economy," he said. "And this showroom is such a fantastic opportunity for us because it’s a great size and is on a busy road in a good location.”

To help out on the large site, Mike said he would soon be hiring at least four extra staff in areas of administration, sales, mechanics and valeting.

The 45-year-old has got big plans for the former Swindon-based company and several future projects up his sleeve, including an upcoming car sales website called wesellyourcar.co.uk

Lechlade’s mayor Christine Eatwell will officially open the showroom at a special event on Saturday, May 5 from 10am to 5pm.

Drinks and nibbles will be on offer to all visitors and all car service bookings made on the day will come with a complementary valet and collection and delivery service.
