A HELICOPTER carrying two people has crashed at Cotswold Airport.

Nobody was hurt in the accident, which took place at the Kemble airfield yesterday (Wed).

The helicopter came down just off the runway and close to the A429 near the main gate.

Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and the Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS) were called to the scene at 1.54pm.

A spokesman for the GWAS said: “Due to it being a helicopter crash, we had special resources ready to go but the two occupants were not injured and we were able to clear them both at the scene.”

A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority said the incident was being dealt with by the UK Air Accident Investigations Branch of the Department for Transport

Cotswold Airport confirmed that no one was injured but refused to make any further comment.
