THE glitz and glamour of the 1920s and 30s will be relived at Westonbirt next month.

The Jazz Age Garden Party takes place on the lawns of Westonbirt House featuring music from top talents including acclaimed jazz singer Clare Teal, the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and the Charleston Chasers.

A weekend of picnic concerts will celebrate the era when guests will be invited to dress in the spirit of the 1920s and 30s.

With music planned throughout the weekend there will also be marquees with vintage clothing sales and an Art Deco collectors bazaar.

The event is sponsored by Bentley Motors, and will feature the biggest collection of pre-war Bentleys ever, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the car.

The festival will also revive the tradition of Concours d’Elegance, with a competition judging people not only on the beauty of their car but also on the splendour of the owner’s attire.

Organiser Laurence Trackman said: "The focus of the event is as much about music and fashion, as it is about cars. There was such a verve, energy and mould-breaking inventiveness during the period which we are trying to recapture with this event."

The Jazz Age Garden Party takes place on August 30-31 from 10.30am-8pm. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and The Charleston Chasers appear on August 30, and Clare Teal and Derek Paravicini appear on August 31. Tickets are priced £25, £12.50 for children aged 10-16, and the under-10s free.
