MAKING Space will next meet on Saturday April 21 between 2pm-4pm at Fairford Community Centre. Crafts and coffee shop for families. The theme this month is Countryside. BOWMOOR Sailing Club has another Come & Try Day on Saturday, April 21 from 10.30am-3.30pm. Bowmore helms will be on hand to take potential new members out on the lake and try dinghy sailing. Also chat to members of the club (all ages) to find out more – social sailing, enjoying the fresh air on a fine day or competitive racing or even windsurfing, open water swimming, paddle boarding, RC boats and canoeing. Please bring a change of clothing and a towel just in case you get wet. In addition to sailing, there is the opportunity to have a go on a sit-on kayak courtesy of Swindon Watersports. There is also a Cake-by-the-Lake in support of Sail 4 Cancer – so why not bring a picnic, try out the new fabulous decked area and make a day out for the family. FAIRFORD & District Choral Society will be performing Brahms – A German Requiem (in English) on Saturday, April 21 in St Mary’s Church, Fairford at 7.30pm. They will be performing the version that Brahms wrote to be sung with a piano duet accompaniment, which will be played by Alison Howell and Jo Scullin. Soloists will be Emily Griffiths (soprano) and William Stevens (baritone).

The concert will be conducted by the Society’s music director, Marysia Gorska-Saj. This challenging but rewarding work is completely different in style from any music F&DCS has sung in the past, and they would love to see you in the audience.

FAIRFORD Tennis Club is holding a Barn Dance on Saturday, April 21 from 7.30pm till late at the Palmer Hall, Fairford. Dancing to Jellied Reels. THE next meeting of Fairford & Lechlade Business Club will be the AGM on Thursday, April 26 at 7.30pm at Hatherop Castle School. Everyone can enjoy a magical evening with Business Person of the Year 2018 winner, Andy Cole Magic. Andy will talk about how he turned a hobby into a great business and will, of course, perform a few amazing magic tricks.

Afterwards, everyone will be able to enjoy a fish and chip supper courtesy of The Cotswold Chippy, winners of the New Business of the Year 2018 award. Wine and soft drinks will be served.
