POLICE are investigating an armed robbery which happened at a Shell garage in Fairford.

A man stole the safe and took cash from the till after threatened a member of staff with a crowbar, pushing it into his chest, before stealing the safe and cash from the till.

The robber is described as a white man, about 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hoody under a grey patterned jacket, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

He had a black scarf over his face and was carrying a blue and black backpack with an Umbro logo.

Nobody suffered any serious injuries but the staff member, a 39-year-old man, was shaken up by the incident on Thursday night.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area last night, or has any information which would help them with their enquiries.
