A 53-YEAR-OLD woman who crashed into a barrier as she entered a Cirencester supermarket car park, was arrested after being found to be almost five times over the drink drive limit.

A member of the public following the woman's car had called the police at 5pm on February 17 with concerns that she might be drink driving.

Before the police could arrive, the Swindon woman, driving a white BMW, attempted to enter Lidl car park, before colliding with barriers.

Police said the woman then got out of her car and urinated in the supermarket car park.

Officers arrived shortly afterwards but the woman refused to give a breath sample at the scene and was arrested.

The woman failed to provide a breath sample at the scene after crashing her car and urinating in a public car park.

In custody, police took a reading of 164 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, almost five times over the drink drive limit. The legal limit is 35mcg per 100ml of breath.

The woman was charged with drink driving and will appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on March 7.
