COTSWOLD District Council are urging residents to take extra care with freezing temperatures and the possibility of snow predicted over the next week.
The council want to remind residents to take extra care and to visit their 'Get ready for winter' page on their website which provides help and advice about how to prepare for the winter conditions.
Councillor Stephen Hirst, Cabinet Member for Health and Community safety concerns, added: "The Met Office is predicting a significant cold spell over the next week or so and we are drawing attention to a package of information including: school closures, arrangements for disruptions to waste collections, keeping warm and well, reporting potholes, snow clearing and coping with flooding.
"We would also appreciate it if people could check on older neighbours and relatives during cold spells.
"Stopping to say 'hello' can make a lot of difference when it is not so easy to remain fit and well. Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold."
