THE family of a man who died in a crash on the A40 near Andoversford two weeks ago have issued a tribute to him.

Jermaine James Sawyers, aged 37, from Gloucester, died on Wednesday February 7, when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with another car and a lorry.

His family said: "Jermaine was a generous and loving person with a big heart. He was always smiling and willing to help others.

"He loved listening to music, eating good food and 'investing' in the latest shoes and clothes.

"Jermaine attended Tredworth Junior School, Saintbridge Senior School (now Gloucester Academy), Gloucester College of Art and Technology, Hereford College, Wye Valley School of Sound and Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication.

"All of his studies culminated in Jermaine attaining the status of freelance Broadcast and Fibre Optic Engineer.

"After graduating from Hereford College Jermaine enrolled at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication and gained his degree in 2000 and embarked on his broadcasting career.

"Jermaine was a big softie and relished the one to one moments he shared with his mum and others who loved and cared for him.

"Although Jermaine travelled tens of thousands of miles (at home and abroad) each year, he made it his duty to spend quality time with his children Jannai, Tianna, Laish, Aaliyah, Neo, Damari, step daughter Georgie and fiancé Kim.

"If he was unable to attend special events involving his children because he was away from home he would always ask his mum to attend on his behalf.

"We would like to extend an invitation to Jermaine's friends, colleagues and those who loved him or shared moments in his life to a celebration of his life.

"The gathering will take place at the Treddy (Gloucester GL1 4SR) on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

"Jermaine’s final farewell will be on Thursday, March 8, at St Oswald's Church at noon.

"Flowers should be forwarded to Beechwood Funeral Service, 7a Highfield Place, Coney Hill, Gloucester, GL4 4PB."
