DRIVERS using the M5 are advised to expect delays following a serious incident between junctions 26 and 25.

The motorway is closed in both directions following the incident which took place at around 6.30am today.

Emergency services are at the scene and it is likely that the carriageway will remain closed beyond the morning peak and drivers are urged to consider delaying their journeys or use alternative routes.

Northbound traffic is advised to exit the M5 at junction 26 and follow the solid black triangle diversion symbol. Take the A38 northbound and re-join the M5 at junction 25.

Southbound traffic is advised to exit the M5 at junction 25 and follow the solid black square diversion symbol. Take the A358 east through West Hatch.

At Horton Cross, take the A303 southbound through Newcott and then the A30 towards Honiton. Re-join the M5 at junction 29.
