A YOUNG learning support worker is undertaking a random act of kindness every day this festive month in memory of her kind and loving mother.

24-year-old Siobhan Brasier, from Cirencester, wanted to do something positive in memory of her mother, Amanda Cubbage, 51, who died unexpectedly on October 21, a day before her wedding.

Siobhan’s project will not be raising any money, her only aim is to spread a little love and kindness this December.

She said: “My mum was the kindest person I know so if it makes one person happy then my mum’s spirit is living on.”

Part of the reason Siobhan has started her kindness project is because she has been suffering from depression and anxiety.

She said: “I’ve always suffered from depression and anxiety which has hindered me from different parts of my life. But my mum also suffered from depression and anxiety so she understood and always helped!

“So when she passed I was worried I would fall into a really bad place so I decided to start #amandaslove to try and spread the love and feel close to my mum while doing it.”

So far, Siobhan has bought a cup of coffee for a stranger in Costa, donated prescription pet food to Oak and Furrows, made a care pack up for a homeless person, and given a board game for a neighbour who is a single mum with two boys (as her own mum used to buy silly games for Christmas for them to play as a family).

Siobhan described what happened the day her mother died: “She died due to an asthma attack - it was very sudden.

“She had text me the Saturday morning around 7.30am to tell me to come over as I was going to stay at hers before the wedding and then at 11am I was talking to police about her death.

“My mum was the kindest and most generous person I know! She was a force of nature!

“She was a single parent to my younger brother, 17, and I - and she has made us the people we are today!

“She has supported me through everything I’ve ever done - from coming out as gay at 14 to my career in supporting young people with autism to being the person I rang when I needed an ear at 2am! She was literally my best friend!”
