  • ARE there things you would like the Police to work on in your village? Would you like to discuss something with our local Police Officers? Go along to South Cerney Village Hall on Tuesday, December 5, 7.30pm, for a Police Neighbourhood Panel meeting and to meet our new PC, Leah Davis. This is a combined meeting for the villages of Oaksey, South Cerney, Cerney Wick, Siddington, Ewen, Kemble, Coates, Poole Keynes, Sapperton, Preston, and Somerford Keynes. All welcome.

  • TODAY, Thursday, visitors are most welcome in joining members and friends when we shall be toasting the Royal couple HRH The Queen and Prince Philip on their 70th Wedding anniversary at the meeting of the women’s section Kemble and district Royal British legion. At 2.30pm in Kemble Village Hall our guest speaker Mr Jim Cunningham MBE will speak about his flying career and beyond. This will be followed by a delicious tea and loyal toast. 
  • A CHRISTMAS fair will be taking place on Saturday in Somerford Keynes Village Hall from 10am until 1pm. Do your festive shopping when hand crafted goods, cards, mosaics, ceramics, preserves, jewellery, and skin care and much, much more will be on sale. Free entry. Coffee and mince pies. Proceeds to Somerford Keynes church. 
  • IN KEMBLE on Saturday morning help is needed when a team of workers will be tackling the Autumn clean up inside and outside the church. Just a little time spent will be appreciated from around 9.30 am. 
  • SUNDAY services will be a Benefice service in Poole Keynes at 10am and earlier in the day at 8am Holy Communion in Tarlton. 
  • IN GLOUCESTER Cathedral on Sunday afternoon there will be a special service for the Aden Veterans with wreath laying at 2.15pm on The Green in the Cathedral grounds followed by a parade of Association Standards. This will include the Royal British Legion and Kemble and district will be represented. 
  • ON MONDAY evening Kemble bell ringers will be enjoying a festive meal at The Tavern Kemble therefore the normal practice night will not take place in the Belfry. The team are so pleased that a couple of new residents have expressed interest in learning the art of ringing but there is room for more to come forward. Please ring the tower captain John on 770371. 
  • TICKETS are on sale for a Christmas concert to be held in Somerford Keynes Church on Saturday, December 9. The Eclectic Swing Band and Folk musicians Jessy and Nigel Price are the stars. £10 adult £5 child in advance from Dave Crofts 861658. All monies raised will be used to pay for new church gates.
