A WOMAN who has lost five babies is organising a craft event day to raise money for the charity that helped her.

The event will see more than 20 local artists come together to support Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity.

Emma Nichols said: “I have organised a craft day to raise vital funds for Sands is because it is a charity that is very close to my heart and they have been a fantastic support to me.

“I go to one of their support groups in Church Down, Gloucestershire, where I have met lots of women and men whose babies have sadly died.

“Sadly, 15 babies die before, during or shortly after birth in the UK everyday, on average that is one baby every 90 minutes.

“I am also asking any knitters of crochet to make blankets for hospitals as we know how important blankets are to bereaved parents.

“I feel that this is important to any parent to have their angel dressed, so if you can make these please bring these to the event”.

The event, on Saturday, September 30 at Westwood’s Centre in Northleach, will be attended by a whole host of local artists including Ozle Creations, Diva Enchanted, Sophie Miller creative photography, Sewn For You and more.

There will also be a raffle, guess the teddy’s name and guess the sweet jar weight as well as an inflatable assault course.

The event runs from 10am-3pm, for details contact Emma on 07790 007057 or email emma.nichols1@hotmail.co.uk
