  • THE Benefice Harvest Festival will be held at St Andrews Church Chedworth this Sunday, September 24 at 10.30am.
  • CHEDWORTH Parish Council has received the first year’s rent of £1,000 for the use of the Diggers Plot for the new mobile phone pole. The council is looking in to spending some of the money on additional screening for the mast site and equipment cabinets.
  • THE parish council has agreed new guidelines for requests for funding. Priority will be given to: supporting facilities which benefit the whole community; encouraging the whole community to be fit, active and safe; maintaining the footpath network within the parish; improving and maintaining parish council land and verges within the parish; maintaining and improving the Cotswold Stone walls within the parish.   • THE parish council is to set up a task force to present a plan of action to the council for maintaining verges along with budgeted costings for contractors to carry out the proposed work.   • THE Classic Motor Hub situated between Northleach and Bibury are hosting a drive-in movie night on Saturday, September 30 featuring Michael Curtiz’s 1943 classic film, Casablanca. Gates open at 7.30pm to allow time to enjoy browsing the showrooms with the film due to start at 8.30pm. Children, dogs and non-classic car drivers are welcome.   • ON SUNDAY, October 1 The Classic Motor Hub opens its doors for its Coffee and Classics morning. Termed as a ‘Motor Enthusiasts Dream Destination in the heart of the Cotswolds’, the old RAF Hangar doors will be pulled open wide to reveal the most amazing super sports cars, classic motors, bikes and more. View and enjoy these classics with a bacon roll and a cup of coffee. The event is free to attend. Gates open at 9am until 12.30pm.   • NORTHLEACH Church hosts The Osiligi Troupe of Maasai Warriors on Saturday, October 21 at 4pm. The Troupe’s music is incredible, mesmerising to hear and certainly fascinating to watch. This is an opportunity to experience and enjoy the diverse culture of the Maasai.   • THIS year Northleach took part in the Cotswold Hare Trail, with Onesiphorus - “Onesi” to his friends, taking up residence at the Old Prison this summer. Purchased by local charity The Friends of the Cotswolds, the hare’s design depicts the history of Northleach and plans to keep him in Northleach when the hares are auctioned off in October have begun.
