THERE have been several incidents in the Tetbury area, including attempted burglaries of shops by the town centre.

Serious damage was caused to a wooden door of a shop after a loud bang was heard in Church Street at about 3am on Wednesday, August 16.

Nothing was taken from the shop but the door was completely smashed apart.

A witness described seeing a white male, aged between 18 to 25 years, in dark clothing and wearing a dark baseball cap, running away from the premises before getting into a dark black vehicle.

The vehicle, possibly a Golf, then headed along Bath Road.

On the same night, a shop window in Long Street was broken. Police believe these two incidents may be linked.

Five boilers were also stolen from a new building development in London Road, Tetbury on Saturday, August 19, between 1.30am and 4am.

This was done using ladders to enter the houses and then taking the boilers out through the front doors. A vehicle was seen leaving the site.

In another incident in Beverston, near Tetbury, a wacker plate was stolen from a rear garden of a house in Beverston between 4.30pm on Thursday, August 17 and 7.30am on Friday, August 18.

No disturbance or damage was caused, despite the property being surrounded by a high fence, hedge and gate.
